If you're into sci-fi, you've no doubt read the Hitchhikers Guide since it was such an iconic piece of literature for those who were pre-teens in the 80's. I remember seeing kids carrying the book around school and the occasional don't panic stickers placed on lockers. For me, this was all the marketing that I needed to pick up a copy and start reading.

I have since introduced the book to my children who are a bit hesitant to read it. They've seen the 2005 movie and are pretty sure they don't need to read the book now. Sam Rockwell's Zaphod is pretty spot on as far as I'm concerned so I can see thier point.

As a result of re-reading Hitchhikers, I can fully recommend it as a safe, fun read for anyone young or old. The humor may be lost on some, but it sure is a rollicking good time.
